Perpetrators and Victims

Who are the perpetrators?
............ Predominately men in their 20's, usually the father or the mother's boyfriend.
Females that shake infants tend to be baby-sitters or child care providers.

Who are the victims?
.......... Infants usually less than 1 year old and seldom older than 2 years old.
It is hard to count the number of victims, but it is estimated that as little as 600 cases to as many as 1,400 occur per year in the United States.
