Have you, a family member, or a friend ever suffered a head injury that doctors deemed minor or mild but then experienced problems that were not so "minor"?

This web site is a resource for those who have experienced or know someone who has experienced a mild traumatic brain injury.  Often times people who have experienced this type of injury are not taken seriously.  Because the injuries appear minor, society tends to expect the person to make a full, rapid recovery.  Doctors, family members, and friends may dismiss the complaints of many patients with significant impairments as exaggerated, or motivated by concerns related to litigation.  While the general prognosis for patients following mild head injury is considered good, the current literature indicates increasing evidence suggesting long-term complications for such patients involving cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and vocational disabilities.
