Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) treatment has become increasingly popular in the last few years.  Although, it began as a  treatment of decompression sickness (resulting from diving) and carbon monoxide poisoning; within the last few years progress in the field has expanded the concept behind HBO treatment to benefit individuals with various conditions (e.g., diabetic sores, radiation tissue damage) (Mid-South Hyperbaric LLC, 1997).  One of the most recent applications of HBO therapy is in the treatment of individuals with traumatic brain injury.  This web site was designed to provide you with general information about hyperbaric oxygen treatment, how it works, who it is used for, recent research findings, and additional resources.
